Roni Duek
Businessman, the founder and chairman of "Zionism 2000 - for Social Responsibility", a social organization which aims to develop a culture of social responsibility among the civic and business community in Israel. In 1998, Mr. Dwek was awarded the "Presidential Award for Volunteerism" for his contribution to the community and in 2004 he was appointed by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as council chairman of the Anti-Drug Authority in Israel. Mr. Duek also serves as co-chairman on the advisory committee of the UJC Israel and serves as a member of the board of Rashi foundation. Since 2006 Mr. Douek serves as the chairman of "Sheatufim". At the 60th anniversary of the state of Israel Mr. Duek was elected to light a torch on the official ceremony.
Eyal Melamed
Owner and manager of "Mei Golan Wind Energy", a leading supplier of wind power energy production systems. Mr Melamed served as the head of the department for external relations and international cooperation at the Prime Minister's office. Mr. Melamed holds a BA in Economics from Tel Aviv university and graduate courses in management at the "Recanati" business school - Tel Aviv University.
Hagit Bachar
Lawyer by profession, in recent years voluntarily participates in the management of associations ("Education peaks", "Association for children at risk," "Zionism 2000") and consultant to companies in the voluntary contribution to the community. Holds a law degree from the University and a master's degree in philosophy from Tel Aviv university.
Robert Goldberg
An ex officio member of the Board of Trustees of The Jewish Federations of North America (formerly UJC). He is a former chair of UJC and of its Executive Committee, and has also served as treasurer and as chair of the Budget Committee. Mr. Goldberg is past board chair of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland and has served on and chaired numerous Federation committees. He was founding chair of the Federation's Partnership 2000 Steering Committee, building and strengthening the community's relationship with Beit Sh'ean, Israel. He is a member of the Federation's "Silver Circle," honoring those who have donated to the Jewish Welfare Fund Appeal for 25 years or more.
Toni Young
Toni chairs The Jewish Federations of North America's Center for Jewish Philanthropy and is a Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees. She is a past chair of Israel Initiatives formerly known as P2K, as well as Global Operations: Israel & Overseas Coordinating Council.
Ms. Young was the first woman to serve as the President of the Jewish Federation of Delaware. She has variously chaired Delaware's annual campaign, Israel Emergency campaign, allocations committee, Endowment Committee and has served as co-chair of strategic planning.
Hubert Leven
Hubert Leven has led the Foundation as President since its establishment in 1984. He also presently serves as Executive Vice-President of KIAH and as Vice-President of Alliance Israelite Universelle. In his professional life, Mr. Leven was CEO of a Parisian brokerage firm and on the executive board of Source Perrier.
Elie Elalouf
On completion of high school in his native Morocco, Elie came to Israel and studied Political Science at the Hebrew University. While a student, he led youth groups from Europe as part of the Youth and Pioneering Department of the World Zionist Organization. During the late 1970s he was appointed assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister, Prof. Yigael Yadin, on Project Renewal. In 1981 Elie began a 25-year career at the Jewish Agency for Israel, starting out as director for Jerusalem and Central Israel of the Renewal and Development Corporation, and subsequently as regional director of the corporation's southern office. It was at this period that he moved to Be'er Sheva, where he remains a proud and active resident. From 1992-1995, Elie served as a UIA (Keren Hayesod) emissary in Geneva, and on his return took up the directorship of the Rashi Foundation. When the Rashi and Sacta foundations merged in 1999, Elie was appointed general director of the Sacta-Rashi Foundation (renamed Rashi Foundation in 2007).
Itzik Turjeman
Itzik joined Rashi in 2008 after a long and acclaimed career in the Israel Defense Forces, where he founded and directed the Atidim Program that identifies high-potential students from the periphery and accompanies them through the army, academic studies and employment. As an electronic engineer, he previously served as assistant department head for electronics and head of production technology administration in the IDF. Itzik received the Israel Security Award in 1988 and the Head of IDF Intelligence Prize for Creative Thinking in 1999, and in 2003 he was awarded an honorary fellowship from the Technion.
Judith Yovel Recanati
Judith established the Gandyar Fund in 2004 along with her husband and three daughters, a fund involved in fostering civil society in Israel, unique projects supporting young people aged 18-25 and assists youth movements in Israel. In 1998 founded with the late Dr. Yossi Hadar "NATAL" - an aid center for emotional stress and trauma on the basis of nationality, and serves as Chair of the organization since.
Ronit Amit
Ronit manages the Gandyar Fund since its establishment in 2004.Ronit holds an MA degreen in training systems management from Tel Aviv university and currently a doctoral candidate. Ronit has senior management experience with non-profit institutions. In her previous position she served as CEO of the Adler Institute. Ronit has familiarity and experience in the business sector. She served for several years in senior positions and on the board of Israeli and American hi-tech companies.
Rebecca "Becky" Caspi
Rebecca Caspi joined The Jewish Federations of North America in September 2007 to lead the newly formed Division of Global Operations: Israel and Overseas. In this capacity, she is responsible for managing efforts to link North American Jewry, through the federation system to Israel and the rest of the Jewish world
Prior to joining The Jewish Federations team, Rebecca worked for over 16 years at the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee. Her positions with the Joint included serving as Executive Director of Worldwide Human Resource Development, Deputy Director for International Relations, and Director of Human Resources and Administration for the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute.
